CEN 455: Sustainable Infrastructure - fall
An overview of how social, economic, and environmental dimensions impact infrastructure sustainability. Infrastructure plays a key role in the ability to transport the goods, people, information, and energy necessary to provide the basis of an economy. The historic focus on the economy has overshadowed the focus on the social well-being of local inhabitants and the environment in which these people live. The objective of this course is to lay the foundation for the meaning of sustainability and then review the environmental, social, and economic impacts of infrastructure through a sustainability lens.
