Campus Transportation

Accessible Transportation

We provide transportation services to students with disabilities between on-campus locations via a wheelchair-capable van. To schedule: transportation@umassd.edu.

For questions regarding this service, contact the Transportation Office at 508.999.9175. If the shuttle service is cancelled, contact UMassD Police at 508.999.8107.

SRTA Sunday Service begins 01/28/2024.  Sunday will share the same times as Saturday and is listed on the schedules as "Weekend"

Shuttle services will cease for Winter break on Friday, December 20th at 5:00pm and will resume on Tuesday, January 21st.


***NEW SRTA PICKUP LOCATION *****

Effective 12/15/2024 the SRTA bus will pick up and drop off students at the shuttle hut at the head of campus due to the size of the new busses they're cycling into their fleet. Please plan your trips accordingly.

  2. A confirmation email will be sent to you. If you don't see it, make sure to check your spam or trash folder. Click the link to register.
  3. Download "BusWhere for UMassD" in your phone's app store.
  4. Login to the app using your UMassD email.

UMass Law Route

(departs from the Campus Center)

There is no service to Law school on holidays, winter break or summer breaks, or school closings due to inclement weather. 

Retail Loop

Pick up at the Campus Center every hour on the hour

  • Students on last shuttle will be dropped off at residence halls

Bus service via SRTA to Fall River & New Bedford

In partnership with SRTA, we offer students the ability to ride SRTA buses at no cost by simply showing your UMass Pass. View the bus schedules here SRTA Bus routes and schedule. SRTA provides access to routes and stops in Fall River, New Bedford, and the surrounding area.

LAST BUS: The SRTA #9 bus provides transportation from the Main Campus (Campus Center) to the New Bedford Bus terminal. The bus also makes all intermediary stops along its route from UMassD to the New Bedford terminal. The bus normally arrives at the Campus Center at approximately 8:24pm and it begins its route to the New Bedford Terminal.

To travel to SMAST in the south end of New Bedford, ride local public transportation (covering New Bedford & Fall River: SRTA: Southeastern Regional Transit Authority. See route maps for exact stops.

Peter Pan bus service to Boston

The Peter Pan bus runs from the New Bedford Bus terminal to Boston (South Station) daily. To purchase tickets, visit their website

When the Safe Rides Shuttle Service hours conclude, you can contact the UMassD Police dispatch at 508.999.8107 to request a Safe Walk to your campus destination.

Zipcar, the world’s largest carsharing provider, allows you to reserve a car by the hour or day. 

A membership based service, visit Zipcar’s UMass Dartmouth landing page or download the Zipcar app to apply and join for $35 annually with your University email. Once approved, which can take minutes through the app, Zipcars can be found in Lot 5 and Lot 13, where they are self-service and on-demand 24/7.
