Kristina Monteiro '10 '12 earns her PhD and begins career at Brown University as an assistant professor.
I am a program evaluator, so I evaluate the pre-clinical and clinical curriculum here at Brown, to make sure that our students are learning everything that they need to in order to be the best doctors that they can be.
I actually had no idea what I was going to do, and that scared me. But, all of the supportive faculty and staff at UMass had always assured me that I would find a job and that I would be successful.
UMass Dartmouth provided the foundation that I needed to springboard into a PhD program that I could finish in three years and get a job immediately after.
And so what UMass Dartmouth did was provide me with a foundational program evaluation knowledge that I needed. A lot of people don’t realize that part of psychology is program evaluation and evaluating randomized control trials for interventions.
I love my job, I love what I do, I love the people here, and I feel like we’re really making a difference.
