Digital media majors Kate Dullea '16 and Mathew Melo '16 paid tribute to both "Games of Thrones" and their alma mater in their senior 3D animation project, "University of Thrones."

Two Class of 2016 CVPA students, Mathew Melo and Kate Dullea, recreated the title sequence of the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones” for their senior thesis, but with a twist. Instead of mountains and castles, their 3D map features the distinctive buildings and structures of the UMass Dartmouth campus, designed by Brutalist architect Paul Rudolph.

Mathew and Kate are both graduating magna cam laude with bachelor of fine arts degrees in digital design and visual design/illustration. They used Autodesk Maya, a 3D computer animation program; Adobe Photoshop; and special video editing software to complete the project.

Since they posted their project to YouTube earlier this month, the video has been generating lots of attention around campus and on social media.
