Medical items to bring to campus
Welcome to UMass Dartmouth!
Health Services would like to remind you to bring a medical kit with the following items when you move to campus:
¨ Digital Thermometer
¨ Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin)
¨ Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
¨ Antihistamine for allergies such as loratadine (Claritin) or diphenhydramine (Benadryl)
¨ Decongestant such as pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) or phenylephrine (SudafedPE)
¨ A mucous thinner for sinuses and coughs such as guaifenesin (Mucinex)
¨ Cough medicine
¨ Cough drops/throat lozenges
¨ Medicine for diarrhea such as loperimide (Imodium) or bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol)
¨ Medicine for an upset stomach - antacids such as Tums, Mylanta, Maalox
¨ Liquid antibacterial soap
¨ Hand sanitizer such as Purell
¨ Bandaids - various sizes
¨ Triple antibiotic ointment
¨ Hot/cold pack
¨ Ace wrap (elastic wrap) for sprains and strains
¨ Cotton balls
¨ Q tips
It is also important for you to bring any prescription medication with you. We highly recommend that you purchase a lock box to secure any prescription medication. We have lock boxes available at Health Services free of cost.
