Student Support Programs

We are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment that empowers and develops students, while providing them unconditional and comprehensive support. Focused on our mission and remaining true to our core values, we have worked alongside our students to produce two the following two transformative student support programs.

Both programs are designed to address the unique experiences of racial and gender-based marginalization, encouraging participants to engage in critical conversations about identity and empowerment. Together, they contribute to the FDUH mission in creating a supportive network that promotes academic success, personal well-being, and a sense of belonging within the UMass Dartmouth community.

Project A.D.A.P.T.

Project A.D.A.P.T. aims to uplift undergraduate men of color by providing personalized support and developmental opportunities. Through educational workshops, mentoring, and mental health resources, participants explore their identities and the challenges they face, ultimately cultivating personal and professional growth.

Project P.O.W.E.R.

In parallel, Project P.O.W.E.R. focuses on empowering undergraduate women of color by fostering wellness, self-awareness, and community. This initiative includes workshops, relationship-building activities, and a special Women of Color Retreat that creates a space for reflection and solidarity.
