When you complete the intent to enroll form, you can pay your enrollment deposit online or you can mail it to:

The $200 enrollment deposit amount is deducted from your fall semester bill. Deposits are non-refundable after January 1.

If you choose to live on campus, reserve your place today. Include an additional $200 deposit with your enrollment deposit—for a total of $400. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier you return your deposit, the sooner we can reserve your space. Deposits are non-refundable after January 1.

After you’ve made your deposit, notify the Housing and Residential Education Office by email housing@umassd.edu. The Housing Office will then send an email to your UMassD email account with instructions for completing and signing your housing contract. You’ll need your UMassD Logon to complete the contract.

We encourage you to complete the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for financial aid. List the UMassD school code on your FAFSA so we can receive your information: 002210. If you have already completed the FAFSA, please make sure you update the FAFSA with the UMassD school code

You will receive an email inviting you to activate your UMassD student account. The subject line will be "UMassD Logon Account Activation."

The UMassD Logon is your username and password for email, our "myUMassD" portal, and our "COIN" student information system. It is different from the “Check My Status” ID and password you’ve used as an applicant. You may have already activated your account to upload Financial Aid documents. You will not receive your email to activate your account until you have paid your deposit.

Activate Your UMassD Logon

State law requires a placement test in math, and if your academic program requires it, a placement test in a foreign language. These tests enable us to place you into the appropriate courses, and have no impact on your admission to the university.

For information and completion of placement exams, please log into the myUMassD portal. You will receive an email inviting you to activate your UMassD student account. Once activated, you may log into the myUMassD portal and go to the placement testing page.

Exemption from the tests only occurs if you have received transfer credit for college-level math or college-level foreign language. AP credits do not exempt a student from testing.

Incoming first-year students: Be sure your final official high school transcript has proof of graduation. If you have taken IB, AP, or CLEP exams, please have scores sent to the Registrar's Office to receive credit.

Incoming transfer students: Be sure to send your final official college transcript(s) from all colleges attended. If you have taken AP, IB, or CLEP exams, please have scores sent to the Registrar’s Office to receive credit.

Dual enrollment students: Please send your official college transcript in addition to your official high school transcript.

Offers of acceptance to UMass Dartmouth are contingent upon successful completion of all courses in high school and/or college and certification of your high school graduation. If your performance declines significantly, we reserve the right to rescind your acceptance.

Health insurance: Massachusetts State Law requires all undergraduate students enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits have insurance in the university’s health insurance plan or in a plan with comparable coverage. You will receive instructions from the Bursar’s Office along with your bill for how to waive or enroll in the university’s health insurance plan. The insurance fee automatically appears on your bill. You must complete the online waiver stating whether or not you want the insurance.

You may not waive your insurance requirement using Health Safety Net, MassHealth Limited, Children's Medical Security Plan or a non-U.S. based plan. Students with F-1 visas will automatically be enrolled in the university's health insurance plan.

Immunizations: Immunization records are required for all full-time students, students enrolled in Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science, on-campus residents, and international students. Please go to the Student Health Portal and sign in using your UMassD Logon to obtain and complete your health forms.

Transfer students: Complete your mandatory on-campus orientation for information regarding advising, course registration, and answers to your questions about successfully transitioning to UMassD. 

Transfer Orientation

First-year students: An important introduction to university life, orientation is mandatory and provides your first opportunity to receive academic advising, select courses, and meet orientation leaders and fellow students. Sessions will include Financial Aid, Student Employment, Living on Campus, Commuting, Getting Involved on Campus, Career Development, and photos for the UMass Pass (student ID), as well as options for tours and visits to the Campus Store and Parking Office.

Once students have deposited, an email is sent with details to register for a specific January orientation session.
