Pre-Med and Pre-Health Scholars Program
The UMass Dartmouth Pre-Med and Pre-Health Scholars Program, also known as Pre-Med and Pre-Health, is an advising program that prepares undergraduate students for application to medical school, veterinary school, chiropractic school, PA, and other health or medical-related graduate programs. Pre-Med also includes connection to the UMass Chan BaccMD pathway program and the Pre-Health Society student organization. Students in any UMassD undergraduate major are eligible for Pre-Med and Pre-Health advising. Students who have already received a bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university are eligible to apply for admission to our Pre-Health Certificate program.
Students have pursued advanced degrees and studies in several Pre-Med and Pre-Health areas including:
- Chiropractic
- Dental
- Medical (Allopathic or Osteopathic)
- Optometry
- Physician's assistant
- Pharmacy
- Podiatric
- Veterinary Professional
- Physical Therapy

If you're applying to UMass Dartmouth with an interest in pre-med or related health professions, please indicate this on your application form, regardless of your declared program of study, so we can offer you appropriate advising and tracking once you're here on campus.

UMass Chan BaccMD Pathways Program
Eligible UMass Dartmouth Pre-med and Pre-health students have an opportunity to participate in the BaccMD Pathways Program with UMass Chan Medical School. Students in the first undergraduate year can participate in the program through the monthly Book Club and attending the symposium. Eligible students can then apply to become a Medical Scholar in the sophomore year, apply for internship opportunities, and apply for provisional early acceptance to UMass Chan.
