UMass Dartmouth and southeastern Massachusetts need a growing, changing, improving library to meet today’s and tomorrow’s information and research needs.
Partnerships with friends and benefactors help nurture the library as it grows with the new century. With your support, the Library will be able to maintain the quality of the collections, offer expanded services, and improve the attractiveness of the building, inside and out.
There are several ways that you can help support the University Library.
The Campaign for the Claire T. Carney Library
Transforming the intellectual heart of the campus
"The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth distinguishes itself as a vibrant public university actively engaged in personalized teaching and innovative research, acting as an intellectual catalyst for regional economic, social, and cultural development... Our goal is to transform the library - to transform the intellectual heart of the university - into a modern hub of knowledge creation, dissemination, and interaction, and hence we are embarking on this library expansion and renovation campaign".

Book Plate Program
Celebrating the value of a good book
The University Library is pleased to accept gifts designated to purchase books in honor of or in memory of individuals and families. An attractive bookplate, including the name of the person(s) honored, is placed inside the front cover of every gift book added to the collection. Gifts can range from $40 for a single book to $1,000 for a "bookshelf" of 40 books. Gifts at the $500 to $1,000 levels also allow the donor to select a specific subject, from this list of Collection Specialties.
What better way to pay tribute to someone special while making a lasting contribution to higher education at UMass Dartmouth.
