Step 3: UMass Pass
Be prepared for Orientation
Make sure you are up-to-date with requirements and assignments on the fall accepted student checklist or spring accepted student checklist.
Your third step in the orientation experience!
Submit your photo for your UMass Pass
Your UMass Pass is the one card you’ll need on campus. You'll use your UMass Pass to access buildings, use your meal plan, and load funds for use on campus. And, if you choose the two-day, overnight June Orientation, it will be the key to your room.
- Log in to the UMass Pass Portal using your UMassD credentials. If you have issues with your login, submit a request with CITS.
- Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
- When entering the required information, use your UMassD email address.
- Make sure to enter an answer for every drop down menu.
- To upload your photo, select choose file and upload photo.
- If your photo is rejected due to the image size being too large, you can pinch in to the image on your phone to shrink it, take a screenshot, and then crop.
- Once you receive your confirmation email or you see “Status: Approved” at the bottom of the upload page, you're all set! Your ID will be given to you during your Orientation session.
Photo requirements
- The photo must be from the top of shoulders to top of head with some blank space above the head.
- You must be looking ahead.
- Hats, headgear, caps, scarves, and headbands are not allowed.
- You must be the only person in your photo, and you cannot include animals or props.
- Use a solid plain light-colored background.
A full list of photo requirements can be found on the photo upload page in the UMass Pass Portal.
