U.S. News & World Report rankings reflect the university's growing momentum
UMass Dartmouth's graduate programs took another step forward this morning as the U.S. News & World Report ranked UMassD programs in 15 different categories, highlighted by the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree's 44-spot rise.
Ranked 76th in the U.S., the College of Nursing & Health Sciences' DNP program is the second highest-rated program in Massachusetts and second among public universities in New England. The program's upward vault in the rankings mirrors the undergraduate nursing major's 41-spot rise this past fall.
"We are pleased and honored to see our institution's commitment to excellence recognized through increased rankings in the U.S. News & World Report," said UMass Dartmouth Provost Ramprasad Balasubramanian. "This achievement is a testament to our faculty and staff's hard work and commitment to student success and outcomes. We remain dedicated to continuous improvement and look forward to advancing our institution's mission and impact further."
U.S. News also ranked UMass Dartmouth 148th in Best Education Schools and 161st in Best Law Schools, both improvements over last year's rankings. UMass Law also scored highly in several other categories. View the rest of UMassD's 2024 graduate rankings.
As of the fall 2023 semester, the university's graduate enrollment increased by 226 students, or nearly 12% year-over-year. More than 94% of the graduate class of 2022 secured jobs within six months of graduating.
"I am incredibly proud of the significant growth in our graduate enrollment," said Balasubramanian. "This increase reflects our institution's commitment to diversity, global engagement, and academic excellence. Welcoming students from around the world enriches our campus community and enhances the educational experience for all students by fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration."
