CVPA program is one of three recognized nationwide
The College of Visual and Performing Arts' interior architecture + design program recently received the National Kitchen and Bath Association's (NKBA) Excellence in Education award for 2024.
The Excellence in Education Award is based on student submissions to the NKBA Student Design Competition. It is awarded to schools with at least three entries, from three separate students, scoring 80/100 or better. The NKBA received nearly 200 entries in the 2023-2024 competition and only three schools received this special honor.
"My favorite part of my job is introducing students to the residential field and giving them confidence within this unique area of design," said Part Time Lecturer Cait Lanza, an accredited kitchen and bath designer who teaches most of UMass Dartmouth's kitchen and bath studio courses. "The NKBA student competition is such a realistic design project with context to home and design constraints. It's a win-win experience because our students get realistic exposure and potential accolades for their achievement."
