The College of Visual & Performing Arts in partnership with Gather 2025 fiber symposium, invites you to join us for an evening of puppetry.

This event is free and open to the public.

Discover an illuminating journey of one woman’s career in the Puppetry Arts and the important role textiles can play in the creation of whimsical characters! Carole D’Agostino will perform a selection of her work, present a retrospective of career highlights, and reveal some tips and techniques as to how the magic gets made.

Q&A and discussion to follow. Puppetry styles will include: marionette, rod, table top, and object theater.

In addition, UMass Dartmouth Fibers MFA candidate, Allison Morones will share her thesis work in puppetry with a short puppet performance! This program will include a discussion on puppet fabrication, special skills and story telling, and two puppet performances.

About Carole D’Agostino

Carole D’Agostino is a versatile puppeteer and fabricator with experience in film, television, theater, and voice-overs. Her creations have appeared at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Sesame Street, and several Broadway productions including Avenue Q, Pippin, Disney’s Aladdin, and Shrek! The Musical. Carole has performed in the Imagine Dragons video Radioactive, at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Puppetry Conference, and at Puppeteers of America puppetry festivals with her own original work and as host of Meet The Artist. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut’s Puppet Arts program.
