"Earthworks: Tradition, Influence, Innovation" will run May 11 to June 23 at the Umbrella Arts Center in Concord, MA
Two College of Visual & Performing Arts (CVPA) MFA students and three alumni were selected for a Regional Ceramics Exhibition entitled "Earthworks: Tradition, Influence, Innovation" at the Umbrella Arts Center in Concord, MA. The exhibition, juried by nationally renowned ceramic artist, Ayumi Horie, will run from May 11 to June 23.
"The fact that the students and alumni selected for this honor span some 30 years of our program indicates the consistently excellent artists we have produced," said CVPA Dean A. Lawrence Jenkens. "I am very proud of all five of these artists as I am of all our students and alumni."
Works by MFA students Anis Beigzadeh and Jenny Peace, recent graduate Fallon Navarro '24, and alumni Julie Peck '94 and Leah Bearce Guerin '96, '04 were selected among the 275 entries the exhibition received. Beigzadeh also won one of five Jurors Choice awards and a $100 prize check.
"It was an honor for me to be chosen as a participant and as one of five artists who won a juror's choice award," said Beigzadeh. "It meant a lot to me because it reminds me that I am along the right path in my journey."
