Mark your calendars for October 25-27 and experience the excitement of Blue & Gold Weekend at UMass Dartmouth!
UMass Dartmouth will host Blue & Gold Weekend, an annual celebration of university pride packed with fun festivities for all Corsairs, on October 25-27. As one of the biggest weekends of the year, Blue & Gold Weekend is a time where members of the UMass Dartmouth community can honor the shared pride and history of this extraordinary university, from students and their families to faculty/staff to alumni.
The weekend ahead is fully booked with activities for all to enjoy, beginning with the annual Alumni/Student Leadership Luncheon on Friday, October 25 at 12 PM. This networking event will give students the opportunity to gain insights from the professional experiences of successful UMassD alumni and SouthCoast community leaders, while also sharing their own career aspirations.
Later that evening at 7 PM, Athletics will host the 35th annual Corsair Athletics Hall of Fame, honoring the remarkable legacies and accomplishments left behind by several distinguished alumni. This year’s inductees are: Rich Ahern '77 (soccer and ice hockey); Amy Lopes '11 (tennis); the 2016-2017 Women's Basketball Team; and Dan Holbrook '08 (basketball, the 2024 Little East Conference Hall of Fame Inductee).
Saturday, October 26 will feature the Blue & Gold Festival on the campus quad with an array of activities planned just for Corsairs, including carnival games, pumpkin painting, and more beginning at 12 PM! A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase. All day long, the Class of 2014 will celebrate their milestone 10th reunion with a special schedule of events, kicking off with a luncheon from Mirasol’s Café where they’ll learn about the Dream Scholarship they established as students.
The Corsair Tailgate, sponsored by the UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association, begins at 4 PM. Alumni can reconnect with old classmates and join students, faculty, staff, and families in supporting the undefeated UMassD football team as they take on Bridgewater State University—a perfect way to build excitement before the game. All class years ending in 4 will also be able to celebrate their milestone reunions in the tent during the tailgate. The day will conclude with a fireworks display following the football game, a fitting end to the festivities that celebrate our heart forever blue and gold.
To round out a weekend of fun on Sunday, October 27, UMassD Athletics will celebrate the life and legacy of Coach Bruce Wheeler, who made a difference with his leadership at UMass Dartmouth and beyond for over 30 years. All are encouraged to share their memories of Coach Wheeler and stay for an outdoor reception and Blue & Gold intrasquad baseball scrimmage against this year’s team, the defending Little East Conference Champions.
