The hybrid event will feature panels and workshops with national experts
On March 31, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the UMass Dartmouth Leduc Center for Civic Engagement is hosting the “Engaged Scholarship Symposium on Anti-Racist Community Engagement.” The event is sponsored by UMass Dartmouth, the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, Campus Compact, the New England Equity and Engagement Consortium, and Dartmouth College.

This hybrid event will occur physically in Woodland Commons on the UMass Dartmouth campus and virtually worldwide. It will feature panels and workshops led by authors from a forthcoming book on Anti-Racist Community Engagement to be published by Campus Compact in Summer 2023 and members of the New England Equity and Engagement Consortium on civic learning outcomes grounded in racial equity. It will also feature opportunities for participants from across the country to engage in conversations with each other.
Participants include UMass Dartmouth officials, Massachusetts Department of Higher Education Commissioner Noe Ortega, and faculty and staff from public universities nationwide.
Participation will be free for faculty, staff, and students from any public college or university in Massachusetts or any member institution of Campus Compact and for community partners of any institution of higher education.
