"Ukraine, Russia and Europe: What's Happening and What It All Means" on April 27 to look at evolving nature of conflict
On April 27, from 4 to 5 p.m., the UMass Dartmouth Political Science Department and the History Department are hosting a Zoom webinar to discuss the ongoing ramifications of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. "Ukraine, Russia and Europe: What's Happening and What It All Means" will feature Associate Professor Robert Darst (Political Science), Professor Brian Glyn Williams (History), UMassD student Valerii Zhurylo who is from Ukraine, and Hobart and William Smith College Professor David Ost (Political Science).
The event is open to the public, but attendees must register via Zoom.
The moderated panel will discuss the ongoing situation in Ukraine with respect to the toll taken on the country itself and neighboring countries, Russia's military strategy and shifting objectives, and the implications for the future of the international order. The faculty panel features expertise on nuclear issues in the former Soviet Union, European politics, and Russian military strategy.
