Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kimberly M. Scott informs students of at-home tests available to students
Dear UMassD Students,
As you probably know, Spring Break begins after classes end on Friday, March 4. To ensure a safe and healthy return to campus when classes resume on March 14, the university will provide each student with two at-home COVID-19 tests.
Here’s how you can get your free at-home tests:
- Commuter students can pick up their tests at the UMass Pass desk on the ground floor of the Campus Center from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. between February 28 and March 4.
- Residential students can pick up their tests at the check-in desk of their residence hall from 7 p.m. until Midnight between February 27 and March 1.
- Law School, SMAST, and STAR Store will receive test kits to distribute to students attending classes within those buildings.
- Please show your UMassD ID to receive your tests.
Once you have your tests, here’s what to do:
- Take the first test 24-36 hours before you return to campus and the second test on the day you are returning to campus.
- For example, if you plan to come back on Sunday afternoon, take the first test Saturday morning and the second test Sunday morning.
- If either test is positive:
- Remain home and isolate for five days.
- Send a secure message via the Health Service portal or call the COVID-19 phone line at Health Services 508-910-6514 to leave a voicemail.
- Notify any close contacts that they have been exposed.
- Do not return to campus if you are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19.
If you have any questions, please contact corona.virus@umassd.edu or review our Frequently Asked Questions for Students website for more information.
I hope you have a great Spring Break and come back ready to finish the semester strong!
All the Best,
Kimberly M. Scott, PhD
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
