In their virtual artist talk Chynna Monforte will talk about developing projects for the web, UX design, and the entrepreneurial skills needed to start and develop entrepreneurial small businesses.
About Chynna Monforte
Chynna Monforte is a first generation Mexican-Guatemalan artist and designer born in Alaska and raised in occupied Tongva land Los Angeles. “Ni de aquí, ni de allá, ni de allá, ni de allá.” Chynna’s work focuses on identity in land, familial ties, and culture in various media such as photography, design, collage, and silkscreen. Their work has been featured in exhibitions at Self Help Graphics & Art, Plaza de la Raza, and The Armory Center for the Arts. Currently Chynna works as a multi-disciplinary designer specializing in custom Squarespace sites for nonprofits, creatives, and small businesses. Chynna began their career as a community arts workshop facilitator and is now the entrepreneurial founder of Monforte Studio, while staying involved with community through zines, hip hop, and social justice.
