Corsair Chat with James Grady '99
Watch James Grady's recent Corsair Chat on his work and experience over the past 20 years that has brought him from design firms to his career today as assistant professor of graphic design at Boston University and principal of Design Axl, a company he founded. Grady discusses what drew him to become a graphic artist, working with early versions of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and where he has found inspiration for his work over the years.
Grady graduated from CVPA in 1999 with a BFA in digital media. After graduation, he worked for 11 years at kor group, a leading graphic design and branding studio led by UMassD alumni. He later earned an MFA in graphic design from the Rhode Island School of Design. After RISD, James worked with Fathom Information Design leading data visualization projects for clients such as Google, Nike, Samsung, and Volkswagen.
