UMass Law Professor Julie Baker recently presented on a panel at the 2021 Annual Training Advocates Conference, “Back to the Future (of Advocacy).” The conference hailed coaches, faculty, program directors, and competition directors from law schools across the country to learn the best practices for teaching competition students. Baker’s presentation “Moot Court: How to Coach Your Team to a Winning Competition Brief" covered: what judges want in a brief and how this varies among competitions; navigating internal and external constraints; and Universal Truths that apply to writing winning briefs.
