Professors Drew & Potter receive President's Grant
Margaret Drew and Jason Potter Burda of UMass Law, along with Caitlin Stover, College of Nursing, will receive a $32,000 grant from UMass President Robert Caret to continue research on building community capacity for HIV-positive individuals in the Southcoast.
Umass Law Alum to Oversee Veterans Treatment Court Program
UMass Law Alum Edward Callahan '13 will oversee the Veterans Treatment Court Program in Wilmington, MA. The Veterans Treatment Court Program offers alternative treatment for veterans with disorders related to their military service. As leader of the program, Edward, who served with the U.S. Army in Iraq and currently serves as first lieutenant in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, will help veterans who are in trouble with the law find the appropriate treatment and services.
Professor Farber on Drone Regulations
The FAA has proposed new regulations for the use of drones by private citizens and companies like Amazon, and the ABA held a panel discussion at their Annual Meeting to discuss the new regulations. UMass Law professor Hillary Farber was invited to comment.
