Secretary Ash to discuss regional economic development and the Commonwealth’s Economic Development Bill at January 25 meeting
The SouthCoast Development Partnership (SCDP) will welcome the Secretary of Housing and Economic Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Jay Ash, at its next meeting January 25, at 8 a.m., at UMass Dartmouth’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Fall River (151 Martine Street). Secretary Ash will discuss regional economic development and the Commonwealth’s Economic Development Bill with SCDP members.
Secretary Ash is responsible for directing and executing Governor Charlie Baker’s agenda on housing and community development, job creation, business development, consumer affairs, and business regulation. He previously served as the city manager in his native Chelsea, a position he held from 2000 to 2014.
SCDP members will also take advantage of the meeting to look ahead in 2016 to examine SCDP/regional goals for the coming year.
The SCDP's mission is to initiate, support and advocate for regional economic development, educational attainment, and workforce readiness initiatives that enhance the quality of life on the SouthCoast through a collaboration of public and private leaders and UMass Dartmouth in a manner that is consistent with the UMass Dartmouth Strategic Plan.
