Commonwealth Fellows Scholarship
UMass Law recently increased its Commonwealth Fellows Scholarship from $5,000 to $8,000 for qualified Massachusetts residents and graduates of a Massachusetts public college or university.
To receive the scholarship, students must have at least a 152 LSAT score and have earned a 3.0 or better undergraduate GPA. The scholarship complements UMass Law’s need- and merit-based aid awards, and makes a legal education even more affordable for Commonwealth residents.
Expanding access to justice in Massachusetts
“Since becoming the Commonwealth’s law school, we have made great progress in our mission of expanding access to justice. The Commonwealth Fellows Scholarship has helped us do so, and this increase will provide even more opportunities for students in Massachusetts,” Dean Eric Mitnick said.
Other opportunities UMass Law offers for Massachusetts students include 3+3 fast-track programs in which students can earn both an undergraduate degree and a Juris Doctor degree in six years instead of seven.
UMass Law has articulation agreements in place with five Massachusetts universities and colleges. Additional agreements with six other schools are currently in progress.
