Members of University community are cordially invited to participate in exhibition to learn about the research being performed by their UMassD colleagues and students
The UMass Dartmouth Chapter of Sigma Xi will hold its 22nd Annual Research Exhibition by faculty, staff and students April 20-21, 2016. The exhibition will be held in the Claire T. Carney Library Living Room and will follow the format of poster sessions at professional society meetings.
Faculty and students - both undergraduate and graduate - are encouraged to submit an abstract for presentation at the exhibition. As the annual Massachusetts Statewide Undergraduate Research Conference will be held on April 22 this year, undergraduate researchers with posters for the Amherst conference are encouraged to also present them at the Sigma Xi exhibition. The Chancellor's Office will sponsor an award for the best posters from an undergraduate and graduate student. Faculty should encourage students doing research to participate in the Sigma Xi event and submit an abstract.
All members of the University community are cordially invited to participate in the exhibition to learn about the research being performed by their UMassD colleagues and students.
The UMass Dartmouth Sigma Xi Exhibition registration and abstract submission website is now open.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is March 30, 2016. Space considerations limit the number of exhibitors to 100. In the event that the number of participants exceeds capacity, the Organizing Committee will consider the earliest submissions first with the goal of accommodating posters from a diverse group of presenters.
The mission of Sigma Xi, the research honor society, is to enhance the health of the research enterprise, foster integrity in science and engineering, and promote the public's understanding of science for the purpose of improving the human condition.
