Robert Leduc '78, Reverend Liz Walker to Address Class of 2014, Katherine Craven, Senate President Therese Murray to Receive Chancellor's Medal

UMass Dartmouth's Commencement ceremonies for the Charlton College of Business and College of Arts & Sciences will take place today at the University's Vietnam Veterans Peace Memorial Amphitheater. 

The undergraduate and graduate Commencement for the Charlton College of Business occurs at 10:00 am. The undergraduate and graduate Commencement for the College of Arts & Sciences occurs at 2:30 pm. 

Robert F. Leduc '78 will be the main speaker and receive an honorary degree at the Charlton College of Business ceremony. Mr. Leduc was recently appointed an advisor to Advent International, one of the world's largest private equity firms, following a 36-year career at Untied Technologies Corporation. 

Reverend Liz Walker will deliver the main address and receive an honorary degree at the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony. Reverend Walker was recently installed as Pastor of the Roxbury Presbyterian Church. She is an award-winning television journalist, a documentary film producer, an entrepreneur and a humanitarian. 

Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray and former UMass Building Authority Executive Director Katherine Craven will receive the Chancellor's Medal. Senate President Murray will be honored at that College of Arts and Sciences ceremony. Katherine Craven will be honored at the College of Business ceremony. The Chancellor's Medal, awarded at the sole discretion of the Chancellor, recognizes individuals and organizations whose contributions to society represent the core values of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth -- lifelong learning, innovative research, and civic engagement. 

Tricia Breton of the College of Arts & Sciences and Nikita Rao of the Charlton College of Business have been chosen to address their fellow graduates of the UMass Dartmouth Class of 2014.
