UMass Dartmouth in Top 100 in Country for Online Education
UMass Dartmouth's Online Bachelor's Program was ranked 69th nationwide by U.S. News & World Report. UMass Dartmouth online education program was among nearly 1,000 programs surveyed by U.S. News.
The ranking reflects a methodology and criteria based on student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and new to this year's ranking, peer reputation, determined through surveys administered on behalf of U.S. News to deans of schools with online bachelor's programs and top distance learning higher education academics.

UMass Dartmouth offers online undergraduate programs in Liberal Arts, Nursing, Political Science, and Women's and Gender Studies. At the graduate level, students can earn an online Master of Public Policy and beginning this spring an online Master of Business Administration, offered by the Charlton College of Business and accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction given only to the nation's most prestigious business colleges. A Master of Science in Computer Science will be offered beginning in the Fall 2014 semester.
In addition, UMass Dartmouth's online certificate programs in Women's and Gender Studies for undergraduates, Business Foundations, Educational Policy, Environmental Policy, International Business, and Organizational Leadership at the graduate level are also available.
Students can earn their degree entirely online. Recommendations and essays for online programs are not required for the university when applying. Almost every class utilizes faculty lectures of some sort. Instructors are held to a high standard in responding to questions from students.
In past U.S. News & World Report rankings, UMass Dartmouth was ranked as the top New England Public Regional University. In addition, UMass Dartmouth's College of Engineering was ranked in the Top 50 for undergraduate engineering programs in the country. Washington Monthly magazine ranked UMass Dartmouth 25th in the nation among master's degree-granting universities; the magazine rates schools in three categories: social mobility, research, and service. UMass Dartmouth ranks in the top 20 Massachusetts schools for highest return on investment according to Affordable Colleges Online. More recently, Affordable Colleges Online ranked UMass Dartmouth 7th in the Commonwealth for Affordable Online Degree Programs.
