Lauren Kuhn welcomed by Society of Women Engineers at UMass Dartmouth for conversation on STEM education and careers
The Society of Women Engineers at UMass Dartmouth welcomed Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at UMass Dartmouth's Claire T. Carney Library Grand Reading Room, for a dynamic conversation about STEM education and careers and eliminating student debt. The UMass Dartmouth community was invited to hear from Lauren Kuhn, who continues to work toward empowering women through education.
Lauren Kuhn currently attends the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gonzaga University. Lauren was crowned Miss Massachusetts on June 29, 2014 and placed in the top 5 of Miss America. The dental student has studied in Zambia, Botswana, and Turkey, performed in Carnegie Hall, collected 12,000+ books for underprivileged children through a self-initiated program, and advocated on Capitol Hill for student loan debt reduction.
