UMass Dartmouth 2014 MFA Thesis Exhibition on Display in Boston Beginning June 4
Works from the 2014 Exhibition will be on display at the Bromfield Gallery in Boston between June 4 and June 28, 2014
The UMass Dartmouth 2014 MFA Thesis Exhibition is a much anticipated and celebrated annual event showcasing the artwork of students from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Works from the 2014 Exhibition will be on display at the Bromfield Gallery in Boston between June 4 and June 28, 2014. The opening reception for the exhibition takes place June 6, at 6:00 p.m., at the Bromfield Gallery.
The Thesis Exhibition includes the creative efforts of UMass Dartmouth MFA degree candidates in the visual arts from across the country and abroad. Work on display will represent disciplines ranging from painting, sculpture, and furniture design to video art, installation, and application software design. This diverse artistic showcase represents the culmination of two to three years of intensive research and preparation.
Featured artists are Aaron Badham, Alain Blunt, Bliss Clemmer, Evan DeMarzo, Kaitlyn L. Evans, Bryan Fitzpatrick Geary, Monica M. Guerra, Jessica Heikes, Jo Anna L. Hickman, Sam Kelly, Kat Knutsen, Mikelle Lindsey, Canguo Liu, Yasaman Louhghalam, Leslie Macklin, Maureen Patrick, Adrian Francis Poole, Roy St. Christopher Rossow, Calley Snow, and Jennifer Wood.
UMass Dartmouth alumni are invited for a sneak preview and reception, beginning at 5:00 p.m., on June 6. Many of the 20 artists will be in attendance to discuss their work. Alumni may RSVP by visiting http://alumni.umassd.edu/mfa.
Founded in 1975, Bromfield Gallery is one of Boston's premier artist-run galleries. With an emphasis on New England artists, Bromfield shows contemporary art in all media, including printmaking, sculpture, painting, and drawing, as well as video, installation, and new media. Bromfield Gallery is located at 450 Harrison Avenue in the "SoWa District" (South of Washington) in the South End, home to over a dozen of the city's contemporary art galleries, along with high-end furniture and design retail, and an array of fine restaurants. Bromfield Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
