Massachusetts Department of Higher Education event focuses on STEM
UMass Dartmouth will take part in one of largest "Go Public" events in Massachusetts this Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at New Bedford High School (230 Hathaway Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02740). Students will attend four back-to-back auditorium programs running 8:20 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and an Admissions/STEM fair running 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All 2400 freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors at New Bedford High School will attend the event, which showcases STEM programs and career pathways through Massachusetts' community colleges, state universities and UMass campuses.
UMass Dartmouth Alumna Tiffany Ferreira '14, a New Bedford High School graduate, will speak to students at the "Go Public" event. Tiffany was a dual major in math and physics and is currently pursuing her PhD in Engineering and Applied Science. She holds a teaching assistantship and works as a member of the design team at Southern Light Solar in New Bedford.
