Reception for Exhibition Showcasing Fine Arts Student Works Takes Place March 27
UMass Dartmouth's College of Visual & Performing Arts (CVPA) presents an exhibition of Fine Arts student work titled "Fine Arts Rising: The Junior Class", at the UMass Dartmouth CVPA Campus Gallery, March 24 - April 7, 2014. A reception for the exhibition, featuring work by students enrolled in junior level classes in Sculpture, Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking, is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., at the Campus Gallery.
The works on display are evidence of the formal investigation, exploration and interpretation of personal ideas through perceptual, technical and formal skills. The Department of Fine Arts' mission is to maintain an environment where artists are committed to the pursuit of teaching, research, and creative work. A faculty, made up of professional artists, provide a high quality studio education to students at the foundation, undergraduate, and graduate levels through formal, aesthetic, technical, and intellectual training.
The emphasis of the CVPA Campus Gallery is given to works that celebrate the talents and creativity of members of the CVPA community. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. These hours are through the academic year when classes are in session. All CVPA Campus Gallery programming (including exhibitions, receptions, and lectures) is free of charge and open to the public.
The CVPA Campus Gallery is located on UMass Dartmouth's Main Campus (285 Old Westport Road, Dartmouth, MA 02747). Those wishing to visit the gallery or attend the reception should park in lot 7.
