UMass Dartmouth's College of Visual & Performing Arts (CVPA) continues its spring semester exhibition season with Explorations 2014 at the UMass Dartmouth Campus Gallery on the first floor of the CVPA building at UMass Dartmouth, on display until February 24, 2014. A reception to recognize the selected undergraduate works is scheduled for Thursday, February, 20, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., at the campus gallery.
The Artisanry department at UMass Dartmouth has earned a national reputation for excellence in craft education. Through a variety of academic and studio-based courses, students are provided with the tools necessary to gain expertise in their own field of study. Graduates of the program possess an understanding of the principles of composition and design in connection with the possibilities of the materials and techniques of Artisanry. Explorations 2014 exhibition allows students to share their personal perspectives on these possibilities with the UMass Dartmouth community.
The emphasis of the CVPA Campus Gallery is given to works that celebrate the talents and creativity of members of the CVPA community. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. These hours are through the academic year when classes are in session.
