Hessen International exchange program is a 3-4 week summer program. The application deadline is early March. Students who have at least a 2.5 GPA are qualified.
"Students get to take courses they can't take here, earn credits, travel, mix with different cultures, and have many open doors in the professional world,'' said Kalbrener. "Students should definitely take advantage of this great opportunity and inexpensive deal."
The total program cost is $900 including tuition, housing, 2 meals daily, and excursions. Airfare is additional and estimated to about $800. UMass students have a choice to study at one of five universities with other international students, including Frankfurt University and University of Kassel. Students will take one basic course in German language and a second in topics such as
Engineering, History & Cultural Studies, Political Science, Business, Sociology.

Students must download and complete a short-term application form, from the International programs website on the UMass Dartmouth homepage. Students must also pay a $300 non-refundable deposit at the Bursar's Office, attach the required materials, and submit the complete and signed application to the International Programs Office in Pinedale Hall (with the International Students & Scholars Center.), passports are required.
