College Positive
In 2013, the College Positive Tours was started to encourage high school freshmen students to graduate and take advantage of the benefits college has to offer. By making the idea of attending college more tangible, it may be more of a reality. In 2015, we decided to reach out to students before they entered high school to increase our impacts. As a result, our tours have focused on seventh grade students.
The members of the UMass Dartmouth College Positive Corps lead these tours and share their own stories about their paths to college helping to build a peer-to-peer connection with these students.
Because of the pandemic, we were unable to have an in-person program. To continue our work, we created an online learning module to continue to provide seventh grade students with information about UMass Dartmouth and the benefits of attending college.
