Earth Eve
The Earth Eve Parade is the largest people-powered parade in New England and takes places annually during April’s AHA! Night in New Bedford, MA. AHA! (Art · History · Architecture) Night is a free arts & culture event that takes place on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Each AHA! Night is themed to present distinctive cultural programs. In April, the theme is Sustainable SouthCoast in celebration of Earth Day and focuses on reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Participants and their eco-floats – anything a person or group can wear, roll, or carry along the procession route – travel through New Bedford’s historic downtown district. Each year, UMass Dartmouth students pair up with community partners to create eco-floats using a variety of materials.
