MPRE Graduation Requirement
Every student who registers to take the MPRE must report their registration, and report their results upon receipt, to Director of Academic Success Amy Vaughan-Thomas.
In addition, every student must complete the UMass Law MPRE preparation course prior to the start of their final semester unless:
- the student earns and reports a scaled score of 85 or above on the MPRE
- the student provides proof of prior completion of one of the commercial MPRE test preparation courses offered by BarBri, Kaplan, or Themis (all of which are free to all law students); or
- the student demonstrates, through a petition filed with the LEC and reviewed by the associate dean, good cause to waive this graduation requirement.
Any student who satisfies one of the three exceptions described above is relieved of the requirement to complete the UMass Law MPRE preparation course.
For instructions on MPRE preparation courses and reporting MPRE registration and scores, please see Accessing the UMass Law MPRE Graduation Requirement (PDF).
