The Labor Education Center hosted Summer Solidarity, a summer project that offers ways to give students opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to community efforts and expand students’ skills at community change, while giving support toward positive community improvement efforts.
Every summer, UMass Dartmouth students from a variety of fields of study debriefed and shared with incoming students at orientation, how they made a difference on variety of issues including increasing funding for public education, expanding regional public transit, immigrant rights and public health.
