Snow & emergency notifications
If a major emergency occurs in which the health and safety UMass Dartmouth community are at risk, the University will activate its UMassD Alert system to instantly contact students, staff and faculty. All students, staff and faculty are urged to visit the UMassD Alert website to review your contact information for this important notification service.
In the event of inclement weather or emergency, the campus community will be informed of closings and delays via the following media:

Parking during snow emergencies
Check the university home page and your email for instructions related to campus parking during snow emergencies. During significant snow storms the university often imposes a parking ban on Ring Road to make room for the plows. Failure to move your car off Ring Road during such a parking ban can result in your car being towed. Therefore, it is always a good idea to move your car off Ring Road during storm.
Public Safety information
Please do not contact the UMass Dartmouth Police Department for updates and notifications on snow emergencies. Our public safety professionals will be busy dealing with the situation, and need their phone lines are best left open for real emergencies.
