Many UMassD graduate degree programs are eligible for STEM OPT. The degree must be in a certain science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field.

What is STEM OPT?
STEM OPT is an extension of standard OPT (24 month extension onto the initial 12 month OPT for a total of 3 years) for students or recent graduates who are studying or have completed their education in a science, technology, engineering or math degree program.
Am I eligible for STEM OPT?
International (F-1) students who receive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees may be eligible to apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion optional practical training (OPT).
