Accelerated Master’s Degree Programs
Earn your bachelor’s and master’s degree at UMass Dartmouth in as little as five years.
What is an accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program?
An accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program allows students to start taking graduate-level courses while enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at UMass Dartmouth. Undergraduate students take up to three graduate-level courses during their junior or senior year, receive their bachelor’s degree and then matriculate as graduate students. Up to nine credits of graduate-level courses taken while the student is undergraduate can count toward both degrees.
Benefits
- Save Money: Pay undergraduate tuition rates and apply financial aid towards any graduate courses taken while an undergraduate student. Graduate courses cost more than undergraduate courses. Also, any application fees and enrollment deposits are waived.
- Save Time: having up to nine credits count toward both degrees means a master’s degree can be achieved faster than following a traditional timeline.
- Skip additional requirements: Applicants don’t need to submit a UMass Dartmouth transcript and, in many cases, additional standardized tests are waived.
- Competitive Edge: an accelerated degree gives you the opportunity for early entry into the workforce. Finishing your degree sooner means you can start your career earlier.
Eligibility
Students typically apply to an accelerated program during their junior year. Students should speak to their advisors about their interest in the program and about the application process by the first semester of their junior year.
