Free Tuition Program for Fall 2025
UMass Dartmouth is proud to announce a transformative initiative, the UMass Dartmouth Deal, which will provide free tuition and mandatory fees to high-need, in-state undergraduate students. Read more to see if you qualify.
Each year, we award more than $1M in aid to students to help fund their UMassD education through both need- and merit-based scholarships. With scholarships ranging from general to specialized interests, and UMassD Foundation and UMass Presidential Scholarships, you’ll be able to find one that fits you.
Corsair Scholarship Portal
Finding and applying for scholarships is easy in the Corsair Scholarship Portal.
Step 1: Submit your FAFSA
Demonstrated financial need is determined by a completed FAFSA. Submit your FAFSA using our school code (002210) by March 1 to be considered. If you are ineligible to complete a FAFSA, you will not qualify for scholarships based on financial need.
Submitted your FAFSA after March 1? You’ll still be eligible for merit-based awards, which are determined by the requirements of each individual scholarship.
Step 2: Search the scholarship database
Use the search scholarships option to review scholarships, eligibility requirements, and deadlines. Check back throughout the year to discover newly added scholarships.
Tip: Use the category search filter button to find scholarships you’re eligible for based on factors including your college and year of graduation. Only use one filter at a time to avoid narrowing your search too much.
New students entering UMassD this fall: Use the entering freshman and entering transfer filters to find scholarships specifically for incoming first-year and transfer students. When applying, you’ll be able to attach a transcript from your high school and/or transferring college/university to provide your GPA.
Step 3: Apply for scholarships
Once you’re ready to apply, log in using your UMassD username and password.
New students: You will receive your UMassD login after you make your deposit.
Helpful tips:
- Complete the UMassD General Scholarship Application to be considered for multiple scholarships at once.
- Most scholarships have March 1 – August 1 deadlines. Be sure to review scholarships for individual deadlines.
- Don’t spend time applying for scholarships for which you don’t qualify. All scholarships have specific criteria listed in their descriptions. If you don’t satisfy all requirements, you will not be included as part of the candidate pool for the scholarship.
We begin awarding scholarships during the spring semester and continue throughout the academic year. If you’re selected for a scholarship, you’ll receive a notification and be asked to submit a thank you letter to the donor, a donor questionnaire, and a photograph.
Admissions scholarships
As an incoming student at UMass Dartmouth, you'll automatically be considered for merit scholarships based on your application and acceptance to UMassD. There are also admissions scholarships for which you'll need to take action, either by applying or submitting verification.
