UMass Dartmouth junior successfully balances winning basketball season and nursing studies
College of Nursing student Kayla McMahon ’20 is enjoying a strong basketball season with a starting position and a winning 10-2 record for the Corsairs.
The Hanover, MA native has assumed a leadership role and is a calming presence for the team on and off the court, according to head coach Matt Durcharme. Staying calm under pressure will be critical for the guard and forward in her future career. An aspiring hospital nurse, McMahon also serves as a patient care assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital and is considering a career as a nurse practitioner, just like her older sister Jillian ’14.
McMahon was featured recently in Wicked Local Hanover. Read more.
