Tell us about your internship with Fidelity Investments.
I interned for Fidelity Investments the summer before senior year. I was a Pension Specialist Intern and worked on calculations for accrued benefits of several major U.S. companies. I also had the opportunity to run meetings, process documents, and learn about pension plans. The internship was a great start to my financial career.
What’s something you’ve been involved with on campus?
As a member of the Investment Club, I’ve meet people that share the same interest in the financial world as I do. Joining this club has helped me gain knowledge in finance and teamwork. Meeting with Prof. Anderson, Prof. Nguyen, and my peers and hearing their thoughts on current financial news and data has been remarkable.
What makes UMass Dartmouth special?
UMass Dartmouth is special to me because of the professors, staff, and students. We’re a strong community that sticks together though rough times. I’ve met great people who have taught me about life and myself. Everyone I’ve met is goal-driven and friendly. I’m proud to say I went to UMass Dartmouth.
What advice would you like to share with future students?
Join an organization, club, or intermural team on campus. Networking is important, no matter what your goals are. Meet as many people as you can, and always have an open mind. Learning outside of the classroom is just as important as learning inside of the classroom.
