Speaker: Dr. Nelson Tabiryan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), BEAM Engineering for Advanced Measurements Co., Orlando, Florida
Abstract: Large aperture ultralight planar lenses, beam deflectors and custom optical components utilizing the 4th generation optics with wide variety of non-mechanically controlled optical functions make it feasible developing an efficient and ultrafast free-space optical networks around the globe, and at affordable cost. We will review the technology and discuss different applications and emerging opportunities.
Biography: Dr. Nelson Tabiryan is the CEO of Beam Engineering for Advanced Measurements Corporation (BEAM Co.). The company has pioneered and is leading the development of the new, the Fourth Generation Optics technology that overcome efficiency, size and spectral limitations of other planar optics technologies. Dr. Tabiryan is OSA (currently, Optica) Fellow, NIAC Fellow, recipient of the Frederiks Medal, and the American Chemical Society’s Cooperative Research Award (with T.J. Bunning and T.J. White of AFRL). He has 300 published papers and 50 issued patents, and is chairman/co-chairman, program committee member of IEEE, OSA, and SPIE conferences, as well as keynote, plenary and invited speaker in numerous events.
