Federal Judge Margaret Guzman

Judge Guzman, a former Worcester public defender, was nominated in 2022 to serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. After graduating from Clark University and Boston University Law School, Judge Guzman served on the Ayer District Court in Middlesex County. Before becoming a judge, Guzman formed her own private practice in general law where she specialized in criminal defense. She also worked for 13 years as a public defender in the state Committee for Public Counsel Services. Additionally, she served as supervising attorney for the Worcester County Bar Advocate Program.
