Courses
The major studios involve intensive work and research in the student's area of concentration. Students investigate the aesthetic, conceptual, technical, and structural properties of chosen media through an individualized study program developed under the guidance of their major advisors. Through questioning and experimentation, students are expected to consolidate technique with the development of strong, expressive ideas. Informal critiques and individualized discussions are scheduled.
Continuation of major and elective studios.
Students will apply the skills learned in Principles of Animation to several multi-week long animation projects throughout the semester. Specifically, they will demonstrate an understanding of Disney¿s 12 Principles of Animation within their own work and through the analysis and deconstruction of reference footage, professional animations, and observation from life.
Concept art for game artists and animators. In this course, students will learn industry-standard techniques and pipelines for the creation of concept art for films and games.

An in depth exploration of 3d modeling and texture mapping. A variety of current modeling practices will be explored as well as current trends, UV mapping, surface development, lighting and rendering.

Digital sculpting for game artists and animators. This course covers the fundamentals of digital sculpting using industry-standard software techniques and pipelines for the creation of digital characters, creatures, and assets.
Pragmatic business aspects, skills needed for a career in design. Students create self-promotional materials and portfolios; write resumes, proposals, contracts and correspondence; and improve presentation, interview and job search skills. The course includes production practices, marketing methodologies, and professional etiquette and ethics; field trips to printers/vendors and design studios; and presentations from visiting professionals.
Study under the supervision of a faculty member in an area not otherwise part of the discipline's course offerings. Conditions and hours to be arranged.
