Jennifer Mammen, PhD, is an advanced practice nurse specialized in family and emergency medicine. Her research focuses heavily on understanding the perceptions and experiences of people living with chronic illnesses, such as Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Mammen’s primary agenda is to enable patient voices to be heard in a clear and compelling manner, and to improve understanding between people living with illness, healthcare providers, researchers, regulators and policy makers. In particular, her novel qualitative methods and symptom mapping approaches aim to connect what is important to patients to new digital health technologies in order to support the development of future devices, treatments and clinical outcome measures that align with patients’ needs and values.
