Biography

My name is Haylee Pimentel and I am graduating from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. My work is fueled by color, shapes and typography, I create designs in hopes of inspiring others to address topics in a playful and unique manner. As a designer, I have the power to inspire and motivate others to make decisions that can change who they are and how they perceive the world around them. It’s my dream that throughout my career I am able to spread playful, colorful and unique messages that help others get through each and every day.

Statement

They, Them, Us allows for members of the LGBTQ+ and their allies to find a safe, inviting and welcoming space to educate themselves, their friends and family. This project demonstrates the journey of self-love and understanding in a way that truly reflects who I am. I used a wide variety of colors, shapes and dynamic typography accompanied by bold and unique imagery. Both my website and book are meant to accompany people through their day to day life. The desired message is that no one is alone and that they have found a place to feel free of the fear of being misunderstood. All of this information is presented in a website which allows each person to have an easy, confident, well-rounded and simple experience.
