Statement
Throughout my time at UMass Dartmouth I was fortunate to work closely with the student body as a resident assistant. This job allowed me to work with people from all walks of life, enriching my college experience exponentially. As my time on campus continued, I began to see more of the shortcomings of the University. I found it hard not to be discouraged hearing the stories that some of my peers have endured and was even more discouraged when realizing how little people acknowledge these issues or are even aware of them. This is what lead me to study systemic oppression at the University, working to highlight these narratives, to learn and grow from them and to demand better of our administration.
