Biography

Connor Rouillard earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, after receiving an Associate's degree in Arts from Bristol Community College. Inspired by color field art from the 1950’s, Connor focuses on simplicity and the interaction between shapes. Blending elements from the past with contemporary design philosophy, Connor creates something familiar yet fresh.

Statement

My project graphs individuals’ fears to give the viewer a chance to find that they are not alone in how they feel thanks to an honest display of data. I aim to give the audience a feeling of connection by showing how their fears relate to someone else’s. This project aims to remove the stigma surrounding common fears by showing the connections between them. Distilling these fears down to their most basic forms offers the audience a chance to compare and contrast these connections visually and learn the potential reasons behind them. This project’s success is thanks to the honesty of strangers, an honest display of this data, and the collective comfort we can find in shared feelings now more than ever.
